Viola Bageri is back in Stockholm for the Holidays, but that doesn’t make Viola stop baking.
So as a true Pop-up bakery I will make a “pop-up” on Local Strangers Christmas Market this Saturday the 17th of December in Stockholm.
Stop by Judy’s, near Nytorget, Närkesgatan 8, between 12pm-5p.
Viola Bageri will have all kinds of traditional Swedish sweets, saffronbuns, knäckebröd and other breads.
Apart from me there will be glögg, a band playing and plenty of young designers and other creative people selling their stuff.
Visit: http://localstrangers.net/ for more info on the coolest Christmas market in Stockholm.
See you Saturday!
Sad news! Viola had to go back to Sweden and won’t be back in Shanghai before the New year. The bakery will be closed during December, but we look forward to see you soon again! Here are some pictures taken by Yaxing at The Market on November 19th.
Viola bageri wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
It’s soon time for Jiashan market again-but-before that, I’m throwing a autumn dinner for my buddies this Wednesday at my friend Jamie’s house-which is actually in one of the apartment blocks at Jiashan Market.
We only have 20 something seats-but if you’re up for a nice home-cooked autumn dinner with breads and cookies from Viola Bageri- and great people!-you should reserve your spot by sending me an email, email@example.com. It’s 70rmb /person- see menu above.
Hope to see you Wednesday-otherwise at Jiashan market this Saturday.
Viola Bageri is back at Jiashan Market tomorrow, Saturday November 5th.
This time the market will be packed with vendors and shared with the flea market Designer’s Corner.
Rain or Shine—I (and the other vendors!) will be there. I have made a lot of Swedish Flatbread (Knäckebröd), Homemade Fig Jam and Rye Bread for this weekend, but all the classics; cinnamon buns, breakfast buns, biscotti and levain bread are of course also for sale.
And no need to have breakfast before the market-I will sell sandwiches made with newly baked sour-dough bread this time.
See you tomorrow!
It has been fig season for an exceptionally long time this year in Shanghai, (usually it’sjust a few weeks in the end of September), and the other day I just couldn’t help myself. I bought 2 kilos of the amazing fruit and made some Vanilla Fig Jam.
The result will be for sale at Jiashan Market on Saturday!
The demand for Viola’s home-made breads and bun’s has been more than my oven can handle. So for now I only make delivery of freshly baked bread on Wednesday’s (You have to order your bread no later than 7pm Tuesday night), and as always you can find me at Jiashan Market every second Saturday.
I’m currently looking for more places to sell and a restaurant or café where I can co-share a bigger oven. Drop me an email if you know a good place.
Have a great weekend!
I will be participating in the Clothes SWAP at Jonas and Ninas’ Studio this Sunday, and I will of course also be selling some goodies from Viola Bageri. I think I will focus on Knäckebröd this time-so if you’re interested in trying out the Swedish speciality-deluxe version, do stop by.

CENTRAL STUDIOS AUTUMN FAIR
Thank you so much for stopping by my and Yuri’s stand at central studios this Sunday. Apart from selling vintage pieces from our wardrobes Viola Bageri was there with chocolate peanut biscotti, Cinnamon buns AND sourdough knäckebröd.
I was up early to bake more buns for YOU, and they disappeared quickly at the market…, many homesick Swedes stopped by and were happy to get hold of some!
Here are some photos from our stand. This weekend has been amazing and I’ve gotten so nice feedback from you all, thank you! I will get organized and post photos and prices and how to order later this week. Now, I have to bake some more goodies.
And yeah I’m gonna have a stand at my friends Nina and Jonas Swap party the coming Sunday-more information later in the week. This is a sneek-peak:
The sale at Jiashan Market was a big success and EVERYTHING sold out!
Thank you all for coming, I’m so happy you liked my stuff. These are some photos from the sale, hope to see you tomorrow at central studios, I will be there from 10 am selling biscotti and cinnamon buns!

Viola Bageri will be there on Saturday the 22nd of October, between 10am and 3pm.

I started baking with my grandmother when I was 2 (!) years old. Here is a recepie from the 14th of August 1989, I’m baking with grandma and she’ s made a sketch of my hands on top of the recepie. We were making blackcurrant bread.
Viola Bageri will make it’s debute on October 22 at the Jiashan Market, look for me there!, and stop by for some home-made cinnamonbuns, levain breads and wild yeast biscotti.
